Islands in the Sun Shawlter Top

This top was SUPPOSED to be a shawl, but it came out too small. So with a little bit of repurposing, it came out to be a halter top. It makes a wonderful summer coverup,  to fit a wide variety of sizes. Directions for smaller size first, larger size in brackets.

Use leftover ribbon yarn, tie one long piece (roughly 1 yard) to each of the wider corners.

Fold the narrow point down approx 1(1, 2, 3, 3 1/2, 4) inch(es), to the inside of the fabric, to create a flat top. Stitch this in place with leftover yarn or sewing thread. Attach two ½ yard pieces to each side of the now flat top. These become the neck ties. Wear with pride & a bikini top underneath.
